The Official Los Angeles Head-Fi Meet Up

By August 12, 2014September 20th, 2017No Comments

On Saturday, August 9 we attended the Los Angeles Head-Fi meet up to #spreadbass to a vibrant community of headphone audiophiles looking to share their latest inventions with both professionals and knowledgeable amateurs. This was our first exposure to this thriving community and we’re happy to say we were welcomed by some familiar faces as well as new allies in fine sonic couture.

The Head-Fi meet up is a gathering of music and gear enthusiasts who meet monthly in different rotating spaces to try out high-end headphones and accessories. The equipment being demoed at Head-Fi was truly remarkable and catering to all shades of sound preferences and we had the pleasure of listening to incredible headphones by Audeze, Sennheiser, Bang and Olufsen and more.

There were custom turntables and amps playing rare vinyl that sounded amazing with the SUBPAC adding the bottom end. It was also a great opportunity for us to try out cutting edge headphone amps like the amazing offerings from Questyle and virtual speaker software from Out Of Your Head and just to talk shop with fellow audio heads about bass, music and the unique custom products and solutions being displayed. The hang out is really the central part of the event and as such many new friends were made, most of whom were SUBPAC virgins and very happy to feel the the SUBPAC’s bottom end! It integrated beautifully  into their set-up and created a physical dimension to the headphone experience that even the most intense audiophile could appreciate.

It was an honor and a pleasure for us to see the SUBPAC in use with the huge variety of top quality audio gear on display, and the attendees shared a ton of beautifully recorded music with us, spending time listening and feeling intently while analysing just why each component enhances the experience of music that we love so much.

We love this community, they have their heads in the right place and we hope to see them all again next year. Meanwhile you can go to the Head-fi forum to find out where the next event is in a city near you.
