We had the pleasure of attending a week long residency at Soho Radio as part of Jägermeister’s Jäger Soho Project. We took the opportunity to invite some of our favorite partners down for drinks, music, tech demos and a good chat.
Previous to moving to our new Uk home in East London’s Tobacco dock we spent many of our formative years in Soho, so it was great to be back in the area mixing with the community and showing the stations djs and visitors what we get upto at SUBPAC with some of our amazing creative partners. Throughout the week we also had Papa Face from the Dub Vendor crew set up a small Record concession within the pop up just like we used to at Blackmarket Records!
The DeafRave crew came along to feel some low frequencies and introduce us to SignKid a Deaf rapper and spoken word artist who was recently seen performing on stage with Big Shaq. We also had K-Man providing SUBPAC M2X demos throughout the day.
Artist Justin Wiggan came by for a small internal garden performance. We had a tiny succulent singing along with one of Soho Radios Cacti!
On our third day Paralympic and European championship medal winner and record holder Toby Gold came down for a demo and chat to discuss future collaboration with us.
We also had David Rainger from RaingerFX visit to make some noise with a killer selection of his effects pedals!
Our friend and grime/dubstep Dj Neffa-T got in the mix supplying SUBPAC demos throughout the day.
On Thursday James and Chris from DoubleMe brought along a selection of VR and MR tech for us to show to the public enabling them to make music in MR with the Microsoft Hololens and enjoy a selection of independent Films on mobile VR devices.
We topped the week off with a Jägermeister Bar and handcrafted Jamaican Ginger Beer cocktails.
We would like to say a special thanks to Oxman for helping us arrange the residency, Adrian, Rachael and Will from Soho Radio and the Jägermeister team for the support throughout the week.
We look forward to doing a two hour show on Soho Radios community station very soon to discuss SUBPAC technology and to share some amazing sounds and music from our favourite artists so watch this space!
