The Austin, Texas music scene has seen few more storied recording studios than that of Arlyn Studios, owned by Freddy and Lisa Fletcher. The studio has churned out hits from legends such as Andre 3000, Childish Gambino, Frank Ocean, Gary Clark Jr., Neil Young, Robert Plant, Snoop Dogg, Sublime, Wilco, and Willie Nelson amongst many many more.
SUBPAC took over an entire control room within Arlyn Studios to set up a fully tactile recording studio where artists and guests could experience the SUBPAC in one of the most pristine listening environments in all of Texas.
FREEHOLD Brooklyn and old friend of SUBPAC, Adrian Grenier, through his label Wreckroom. put together the event, bringing out their entire staff to run the 3-day party and concert series alongside Arlyn Studios staff itself. Performances included everyone from The Skins, Ha Ha Tonka, and Aaron Behren’s (Ghostland Observatory) side-project, The Midnight Stroll.
Bringing the SUBPAC experience Austin’s music royalty was an experience we will not soon forget and look forward to bringing back to Austin next year.
