Back in October we collaborated with UK producer Distance, taking over the basement of  Four Quarters bar in Peckham. The evening providing fans, friends and family a unique and fully immersive opportunity to experience the then forthcoming new album Dynamis in all it’s bass heavy glory.

Dynamis is Distance’s third album and is released on the mighty Tectonic Records straight outta Bristol on which Distance has released a handful of 12” singles over the years. This album see’s Distance change direction and experiment with different tempos and palettes. Veering away from his trademark 140bpm sound for which he is well known for and taking in a variety of influences from A$AP Ferg, Arca, FKA Twigs and Panterra. Dynamis takes as much from these influences as it does from Cinema, with a heavy nod towards movie soundtracks and sound design.

Distance passed by the SUBPAC office while working on his album and was an instant convert to his now trusty M2 which is part of his everyday use in the studio. He used the M2 to great effect in adding the final touches to the creation and production of Dynamis. Using the M2 on his album has led to Distance and the SUBPAC team discussing Distance creating an exclusive piece of music ‘inspired by the SUBPAC’, so keep an eye and ear out for a forthcoming ‘SUBPAC Optimized’ track  from Distance for the launch of a new project, more details to follow.

Thanks to Tom @ Four Corners, Greg and Tectonic for helping with organising the session and a big thank you to Sarah Ginn on photography duties.
