SUBPAC: Hackstock

Set phasers to stun! The Sci-Fi festival landed in London bringing us a glimpse into alternative realities, deepfake dramas and even pet cosplay.

Across the capital independent Science Fiction filmmakers had the opportunity to show their work, attend workshops and network with like minded individuals.

We had the pleasure once again to get involved with Hackstock a collaboration between our friends at Playlabz / Ravensbourne University.

For the 5th year Hackstock was once again at the bleeding edge of future media showing off a selection of experiences using mixed and augmented reality, holographic displays, EEG and L.E.D technology and of course plenty of SUBPACs!

The SUBPAC Uk crew created a SUBPAC optimised audio experience ‘Extinct’ enabling visitors to physically feel the interaction between human, plants and machine. Using hardware synths, Data Gardens Midi sprout an Asparagus aethiopicus and SUBPAC M2Xs.

We would like to extend a huge thanks to the Playlabz and London SciFil teams and all the film fans who came down to alter their reality and delve into science fiction with us.
