June 1st and 2nd 2016 found the SUBPAC team at the 7th annual Augmented World Expo (AWE) was held at the Santa Clara Convention Center showcasing alongside some of the best and brightest in Augmented and Virtual Reality.
Alongside our partners TheWave VR, SUBPAC showcased why the physical dimension of sound is crucial to a proper VR experience. TheWave is a brand new audio reactive environment for the HTC Vive that uses the full 360 room-scaling capabilities of the hardware to allow DJ’s and producers to either perform or create music in a virtual space. Something of a psychedelic trip into music visualizer, you can either perform, watch a performance, or create a new song all around you using the Vive paddles. Pairing the SUBPAC with TheWave creates the sensation of truly being IN the mix.
We capped off AWE with winning “Best in Show” at the post-show awards ceremony for our collaboration with TheWave – Our first award in virtual reality and something for which we feel truly honored as it was based on popular choice via votes via AWE’s system, social chatter and views to the website.
